Strength Training

So, Micah got this bar for his workout routine. You can do pull-ups, ab crunches, etc. He threw Ethan up there one day and this boy loves hanging from there. He actually stayed up longer than Kayla. Crazy kid.

Winter Getaway

I'm so behind in blogging - I really have no excuse except for just not getting it done! So, 2 weekends ago we took the kiddos to a hotel for the night just for fun. Every year Micah's parents give us xmas money and sadly enough we always put it towards bills and this year I finally said lets do something FUN instead so we came up with this idea. It has a zero entry pool which of course is so great for little kids. Despite water being chilly Kayla LOVED it - Ethan wasn't sure at times but overall they had a blast. Friday night some friends came to swim along with Aunt Cherise. I thought I had more pics of everyone but I don't. :(

Micah and the kids and you can kind of see our friend Tony and kids in background.

Kayla and her dear friend Raegen - they even have matching suits - so cute.

Kayla is loving swimming more and more and jumping into the water!

Ethan could sit and splash forever - Micah is just trying to see through it all.

Practicing those swim techniques.

There is also a indoor playground right next to the pool and the kids loved that as well. This was the morning before we had to pack up and leave, they really didn't want to leave!
It was such a fun get away and we will do it again sometime! Something different to break up the winter indoor blues. :)

Christmas Fun

Christmas has come and gone and I'm a blogger slacker so here is one huge post to sum it all up. We stayed in Omaha for Christmas since Micah had to work so for the past week and half we have had family coming and going which has been really nice.

Christmas morning stockings - best pic I could get out of them!

We could not keep Ethan off the presents - he was way more interested in climbing on them then opening them.

Kayla got a doll house...

Ethan a work bench......

Sledding with Papa in our backyard. Kayla LOVED it, Ethan wasn't so sure.

Happy Birthday Jesus! Kayla loved making the cake for Jesus and singing to Him.

I got sick Christmas night so the next day my parents took Kayla outside to play in the snow and make snowmen. Kayla thought her snowman needed hair like hers so hence the leaves.

Christmas lights at the zoo. It was quite chilly but the kids had fun.

We couldn't get a good picture that captured the lights but it is really neat.

Kayla's annual gingerbread house.

We surprised Kayla and took her to see Sesame Street Live - Micah's parents and Uncle Brett and Aunt Traci were here so when we needed to go she started crying because she didn't want to leave them - we were going to wait until we got there to tell her what we were doing but we ended up telling her so we could actually leave. She of course LOVED it. We even treated her to popcorn and cotton candy which she thought was the greatest thing. Elmo and Zoe were her favorite and she really liked when they danced and sang.

We left Ethan at home so with Grandpa and Grandma so it could be a special treat for her without little brother distracting!

Preschool Christmas Program

Kayla had her preschool christmas play yesterday and she was a lamb in the play. It was pretty cute. Micah couldn't be there so I did the best that I could taking pics and a little video while keeping tabs on Ethan.

On a funny side note, we have a big box that I cut a door in for kids to play with - you know classic box is the best toy! So, yesterday afternoon I heard Kayla from the other room saying, "there is no room at the inn! Ethan, there is no room at the inn! You have to go sleep in the stable!" I wish I would have gotten it on tape because it was so cute. I went to go look and she is in the box trying to push him out. Regardless of kicking her brother out I'm thankful she knows the Christmas story! :)

Kayla is on the left.

Thanksmas

So, I am way behind in posting. We went to Kansas for Thanksgiving and had a great time. We celebrated Christmas with my family since we were all home and none of us can go home at Christmas. My sister-in-law also had a baby shower which was fun to be able to be a part of since they live in Ohio. After Thanksgiving I got sick - crazy enough I got an ear infection on top of everything else. First ear infection of my life and first time I have been on antibiotics in 9 years. What in the world.

Eigsti Family

Hyped up after unwrapping presents.

So, Micah was a trooper for me - I found these sweaters last spring at Old Navy for $3.00 a piece and I could not refuse - just couldn't. If I could have found matching sweaters for Kayla and I there would be a great pic of us but no such luck!

Brett took pics of us for our christmas card and this was the end of the picture session. I REALLY wanted to send this pic on the card but decided not to. Wouldn't that have been great! :)

Ethan - 15 month check up

Friday, Ethan had his 15 month check up. When our pediatrician walked in Ethan was being his busy little self and doctor said "well, I can see within 30 seconds that's he is developmentally on track." Yes, very very busy - his walking has turned to running and he's crawling up on everything. As exhausting as he is his smile just melts our hearts!

The stats:

Weight: 26lbs 74%
Height: 33 3/4" 90%

I keep thinking his height is going to average out but we will see. Seriously, I'm 5'4" and Micah is 5'8" not a whole lot to work with.

Bustin a Move

About a week ago I was working in the kitchen while the kids were playing. I had the new Michael W Smith CD going and I glanced over at Kayla and tried so hard to not crack up and thankfully my camera was within reach. The lovely instrumental accompaniment in the background is Ethan who is always making a joyful noise! :)
