So, the projects are finally done......almost. I didn't take pre pics but here are some after.
I love the tile in the kids bathroom. We are going to do the same in our bathroom - hopefully in the next few weeks but depends on Micah's time. Kayla actually went up and played with her my little pony's on the floor...she said she liked the floor and wanted to play in there...whatever at least it's all clean!!
We painted entry way (seen below), kitchen, family room and upstairs hallway. I figured you all get the point of the color by this pic. It is slightly (and I mean slightly) darker than the previous color. We went very neutral for resale purposes. I really can't wait to have fun with some color in the next house - so tired of boring cream. It feels so good and clean with new paint!
The kids and I got back from Kansas Friday night. It was a good trip. I was thinking on my way back to Omaha how much has changed in a year. Ethan has come a long way - he tolerates the 5 hour drive WAY better than he used to.
Crazy story, Wednesday on my way back to Kansas to get the kids I was in my parents car and I saw black clouds ahead and figured I would just run into some rain. About 20 minutes later it was raining so hard I almost had to pull over and then hail started, intially pea size and then literally golfball and baseball size hail. NEVER in my life have I experienced anything like it. I felt like I was being shot at...it was constant and the windshield kept shattering (didn't break through just broke the glass) and felt like hail was going to come through the car. Thankfully I found a gas station and myself along with 4 other cars were trying to hide under the awning. I am so mad that I didn't pull my camera out - after it was done the whole ground was white and felt like I was driving on huge gravel chunks. I am so glad I was by myself! Ended up being$4000 in damage to my parents car. :( My dad was so great about it and only was worried that I was okay and that I could see enough to get home. Hopefully and probably won't ever experience hail like that again.
Saturday morning at church they had a father/daughter/son (ages 3-5) adventure. It was Indiana Jones theme and Kayla LOVED it. Micah had to leave straight from there back to hospital so I don't have a pic of them together but these were all her treasures she got. They had a map they followed, made treasure chest, binoculars, used flashlight through tunnels, made cross necklace (told me she really wanted a pink cross and not black but she loves the necklace and has worn it constantly), took pic together and she decorated the frame and decorated bag to keep all the goodies in. Micah said it was a lot of fun and they tailored some of the stuff for the dads to (such as quotes form the movie, etc) A great father/daughter memory!
Friday before kids went to Kansas I met a friend from Des Moines at the zoo along with another friend from Council bluffs. It rained the whole time and we all forgot college world series baseball was starting (stadium is across the street from the zoo) but we had fun regardless and we'll never forget the day! I couldn't resist sharing this pic - was hilarious watching. Ethan LOVED the gorillas and cried every time we walked away from one.
Kyle, Cole, Kayla, Annika and Sydney. Ethan had crashed asleep so no pics of him. Sorry buddy.
