Micah found out yesterday that he passed his boards! Yeah!

Marathon

As promised some pics from the big race. I have to be honest it's been a rough week because I am so disappointed how the race went. Plain and simple it was just a bad day - I was more than 20 minutes off my time I should have finished at. As my loving and supportive hubby keeps telling me I did finish and that is the ultimate goal! Gives me something to work towards - I will have to do another one some day and beat my time! :)

Checking in and getting my bib and chip. There was an expo and had TONS of free stuff and everything and anything running you could dream about.

45,000 people registered to race, 33,000 started the race and I believe 31,000 finished the race.

It got to 85 degrees and was so hot - not ideal but everyone plugged through. They had hoses and hydrants spraying to cool all the runners off throughout the course which helped

I couldn't have trained and fulfilled this dream if it wasn't for Micah! Thank you honey for putting up with me and sacrificing to help make this possible for me!

Micah and my brother both ran with me, what was going to be 3 miles each turned into Chad running 6 miles with me and Micah running about 8 miles with me. It was nice having some company along the way and mostly just the encouragement to push me on. Thank you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO - I ran my first marathon today! 26.2 miles if you don't know the distance. Something that I have always dreamed of doing and was in Chicago few years ago watching the marathon and decided when I run it - it will be in Chicago. I'm happy to say I finished and that was the ultimate goal. Wasn't the race day I dreamed of but that happens and it is what it is - I finished and I am happy about that! I think I'll stick with half marathons and other smaller distance from now on but it was an experience of a lifetime and I'm so glad I did it! Pictures to come..........

Chicago Bound

Micah, my sister and I are flying to Chicago tonight for the weekend and meeting my brother and sis-in-law there. If you don't know why we are going to Chicago you'll have to check back in. A clue: I'm doing something on my dream list!!! Are you curious????????

Power of Pink

Sunday we participated in Race for the Cure to help promote breast cancer awareness and raise money for research. We did the 5K and ran most of it - fun family morning!
Kids have it so good! :)
There were 18,000 people that participated this year - either for the 1 mile or 5K.

Preschool Field Trip

Thursday morning Kayla had her first field trip. I was able to go and enjoy a fun morning with her!

Kayla loves that her good friend Raegen is in her class!

Nothing like a friendly game of tug-a-war with 3 year olds!

My MOPS group played this the other day and it was so awesome! It's about 9 minutes long but worth it - hope you all enjoy as much as I did!
